Breakout Session 1. Special consideration and special requirements
This session includes a detailed explanation of the tariffs available for a wide variety of special consideration situations, highlighting the restrictions Awarding Organisations work within. If you’re a new Exam Officer this session will help you save time in compiling information for submission to Edexcel, and demonstrate QCDA’s online access tool (AAO).
Breakout Session 2. Online Tools
Primarily for new Exams Officers, this session will help you plan effectively, demonstrating QCDA’s online timetable and key dates tools. It will also help you understand the structure of time-tabling and what you can do when exams clash.
Breakout Session 3. Controlled Assessments – lessons learned
This interactive session will invite participants to share issues they have faced with Controlled Assessments, and the obstacles overcome, with a view to clarifying the role of Exams Officers and improving the support available. If you are new to Controlled Assessments you may wish to join Session 4.
Breakout Session 4. Controlled Assessments - Centra
An interactive session introducing Controlled Assessments to Exams Officers, inviting questions and demonstrating the use of Centra as an easily accessible training facility.
Breakout Session 5. Edexcel Online
An essential update for all Exams Officers, covering an exciting re-development, what to expect and when, and providing an opportunity to feed back on the propsed functionality of Edexcel Online.
Breakout Session 6. Onscreen Tests
For anyone interested in Onscreen Tests, highlighting what is already available and what’s planned, including details on technical requirements and how to maintain security. You’ll get an opportunity to test your skills and receive your results on the day!
Breakout Session 7. Diplomas
Helping Exams Officers who are new to Diplomas work their way through requirements and understand the operational elements.
Breakout Session 8. ePEN – the life of a script
Ever wanted to know what happens to a script once it’s in the system? Dubious about the benefits of online marking? This session follows the typical journey of a script, demonstrates how ePEN improves effectiveness and accuracy, and follows the journey through to post-results services.
Breakout Session 9. ResultsPlus Direct & ResultsPlus Analysis
A fascinating introduction to the ResultsPlus service which provides free access to clear performance reports by centre, cohort or at an individual student level. Working on a number of levels, this can help overall school and student performance, and aid teaching and planning through exam results analysis.
Breakout Session 10. Electronic Data Interchange and Edexcel Online Clinic
A useful and interactive session which covers common errors and navigation challenges for both new and experienced Exams Officers. If you are interested in new developments for Edexcel Online you may wish to attend session 5.
Lunch, breaks and Showcase Exhibition
Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day and built into your personalised programme; as you move between sessions you’ll have plenty of time to meet with colleagues and the Edexcel team.
